Going to BC!
Wow! I leave for B.C. in about 30 hours!
I was able to get last minute cheap tickets. Kathryn and Chris are able to house me for a week, and I decided I needed the Vacation after these past couple of hectic months.
So I take off at 7:30 am Thursday and land at 9:50 in the morning BC time. I'm so excited!
I still have to pack. I am going to miss my Drew. He can't come cause he can't get the time off work. But I'm looking forward to seeing mountains in the horrizon rather than smog! I plan to keep myself occupied and maybe get myself out and see a couple sites.
It looks like it may be rather rainy unlike the last time I went, but I'm up for it!
My boss was told there was a really big healthfood store in Vancouver and she wants me to go see it. Told her no garuntees on my vacation!
I Can't wait to go!
I should get myself to bed soon I won't be getting as much sleep tomorrow night.Posted by becca at February 18, 2004 01:16 AM

Longing for spring
I caught a breath of air today that smelt like spring - That fresh moist earthy smell with a slight floral scent. I want spring to be here so much. To feel warm sun against my skin and a wisper of wind on my face.
I love to watch life come new each day in spring. Trees go from a twiggy tangle to bursting with fresh leaves and blosoms swaying in the wind. Flowers burst from a tiny little sprout in the ground. Each day you see a new shade of green as sun and rain nourish the plants.
I'm espeacially looking forward to watching this transition in my own back yard. There is evidence that once upon a time a person who enjoyed gardening lived here. It will be so interesting to watch what plant-life lurks beneath the snow and soil in my backyard.
I'm hoping to grow my backyard with mostly perenials and native plant life. I espeacially love those orage spotted lillys with the long smooth reed like leaf. It's a shame they don't seem to last after you pick them. They always seem to shrivel into nothing.
I might also look into buying lilacs. The scent of lilacs has always filled the air just before my birthday in May. I think I would like to have some in my own yard to enjoy.
There are also some violets and lilly of the valley I think I might ask my mom for a couple of bunches of to plant into my garden.
I also want strawberries, peppers, tomatoes, peas and carrots and herbs in my vegetable garden. Maybe some tall sunflowers lining the back of the house.
As a kid, we always had full gardens of all sorts of plants. Flowers, trees, shrubs, fruit and vegetables. We would always pick our fresh veggies for dinner.
There is nothing like vegetables freshly picked lettuce and grown from your own backyard at dinner. Mmm I can't wait!Posted by becca at February 5, 2004 11:06 PM

Procrastination
I have a small essay due tomorrow... For some reason I just can't bring myself to do it. I can do anything but that essay. Clean the house, deal with our mini flood, even change my clothes 5 times for no reason.Drew told me he needs to go out to buy new shoes... I think I'm gonna go with him. Is it that we finally have some sunshine and I don't want to waste my energy studying? I don't know. Maybe I shold go out and play and then I might be able to concentrate. Ya I think I'll hussle the idea of getting out of the house. Then Work on the essay tonight/ and tomorrow cause it's not due till 7:00pm
Maybe I'll go for a walk or somthing. I just really need to get out.Posted by becca at February 4, 2004 12:36 PM
